How do Paragon Lenses work

When applied daily right before bedtime the Paragon CRT Contact Lenses will:

  • Correct your corneal curvature overnight 

  • Flatten the center of the cornea 

  • Change the corneal curvature to focus light directly onto your retina

  • Have the corrected curvature maintained throughout the day

  • Prevent elongation of the eyeball by eliminating peripheral blurs, which corrects nearsightedness

  • Glasses only maintains your central vision, whereas Ortho-K maintains both central and peripheral vision.

Are you a suitable candidate?

There are many criteria that determine the candidacy for Paragon CRT lenses, which include but are not limited to:

  • More than 70% of Paragon CRT contact lens patients are between the ages of 8-18

  • Paragon CRT Lenses are FDA approved up to patients with -6.00D, with or without 1.75D astigmatism 

  • You live an active lifestyle and currently wear glasses or daytime soft contact lenses

  • Adults who suffer from uncomfortable daytime soft contact lenses due to dryness

  • Adults who are hesitant about having eye surgery 

  • Patients who are unsuitable for LASIK due to age, thin corneas, etc...

How to handle and care for your lenses

Handling your lenses:

  • Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with a mild soap and dry your hands with a lint free towel before applyinig your lenses

  • Avoid soaps with cream, lotion or oil

  • Handle with only your fingertips 

  • Do NOT use tap water on your lenses, non-sterile water can cause infections.

Applying your lenses:

  • Work over a towel that has been placed on a flat surface. We will begin with the right eye first.

  • Before applying first rinse the the lens with the Boston Simplus Multi-Action Solution 

  • Wet your right index finger with a drop of the conditioning solution and place the contact lens front side down on your right index finger

  • Place your second finger on your left hand in the middle of the right upper lid and press firmly upward

  • Place the second finger of the right hand on the lower lid and press downward

  • Stare into a mirror as though looking through the finger holding the contact lens 

  • Slowly move the forefinger with the contact lens towards the cornea until the lens touches the cornea. slowly release the lids 

  • Repeat the process for your left eye

Removing the lenses:

  • Work over a towel that has been placed on a flat surface, we will begin with the right eye again.

  • Place the right index finger at the outer corner of the eye 

  • Place the left hand cupped below the eye 

  • Open your eyes wide.

  • Continue to keep the eyes open and pull the lids sideways, away from the nose 

  • Blink quickly and firmly

  • Repeat the lens removal procedure for the left eye 

  • OPTIONAL METHOD: If you choose to use the supplied DMV lens remover device, compress the handle of the DMV between your thumb and index finger while looking straight ahead. Carefully center DMV on contact lens. when the contact has been seated on the lens and gently tip the DMV remover downward. Squeeze the stem of the DMV remover to release the suction and slide the lens from the DMV remover between your thumb and index finger. Repeat the procedure with the left eye.

 

Keeping your lenses clean:

  • We recommend cleaning and rinsing your lenses with our recommended solutions for continued safe and comfortable wearing of your lenses - NEVER use water! 

  • Remember to disinfect the lenses after removal using Bausch + Lomb Boston Simplus Multi-Action Solution 

  • Apply one or two drops of the solution then gently rub the lens to remove any debris

  • Place each lens in their respective containers along with the Boston Simplus Multi-Action Solution for at least 4 hours
